Splunk Solutions Engineers are responsible for the technical elements of the sales cycle, enabling prospects and customers to understand how Splunk can meet their requirements and become their trusted advisor.

As a Solutions Engineering Intern, you will be based at the location specified in your contract of employment. During the internship you will gain Splunk skills, achieve Splunk certifications, and develop a broad domain knowledge of Sales, Solutions Engineering and Splunk’s technology and use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver standardised technical product webinars.
  • Undertake technical discovery calls and conversations with prospects to discover and validate sales opportunities.
  • Deliver consultative presentations, demonstrations, and workshops to help prospects understand how Splunk addresses their technical and business requirements and how it differs from alternative solutions.
  • Own the technical strategy for opportunities they work on.
  • Determine the most appropriate form of Solution Validation for opportunities and manage them to a successful outcome.
  • Create custom demonstrations based on customer use‑cases and/or data to demonstrate Splunk’s ability to meet their requirements.
  • Respond to the technical elements of tenders (RFI/RFPs) when appropriate.
  • Answer technical questions from prospects and customers.
  • Make general recommendations on Splunk solutions architecture.
  • Identify and manage technical issues arising throughout the sales lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interest in technology and its application to solve business problems.
  • Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems.
  • Additional languages desirable: French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Italian.

Education

  • Currently in university, ideally about to start final year following completion of the internship.
