Our IT Degree Apprenticeship is a great way to kick-start your career in technology, gaining invaluable work experience whilst earning the same qualifications as a university graduate, including sought-after industry qualifications. During the 3 years, you will have the opportunity to experience how our internal IT team delivers cutting-edge products and experiences for Cisco’s global 80,000 staff! You will work with different teams – business & technical. You will get to learn our cutting-edge technology and work with our industry-leading experts. You could be building and managing the network, deploying Cisco’s software or helping to build AI infrastructure. Cisco IT powers everything we do. By the end of the programme you will have both the knowledge and experience to kick-start your career in a thriving technology sector.

We are very passionate about the impact YOU can make as a degree-apprentice. We have built the right support around you so you can understand how your passion and skills best fit within Cisco. You will have a dedicated Apprentice Manager, business mentors, apprentice peers and access to leading expertise. They will help you pursue rotations that play to your strengths and interests supporting you in developing the necessary skills to be successful. Everyone matters in Cisco and everyone makes a difference!
Your Impact
In Year 1 of your programme you will be foundation-building in a safe and trusted team who will mentor and coach you with the fundamentals you need to know as a Cisconian. You will learn a lot about yourself – as will we – which we will use in Year 2. In Year 2, with the knowledge of your strengths and interests you will select a team that allows you to lean on these to accelerate your skills development. In Year 3, you will be refining everything you’ve learnt, to start delivering as though you are in the role and type of team you want to step into after completing your degree apprenticeship.
So, what will you be doing as a degree apprentice in these 3 years, in one of the world’s leading technology companies?
- Using your problem-solving skills to help provide innovative solutions to specific opportunities / challenges
- Learn about and help support our internal IT portfolio and services and how they better enable our staff globally
- Build ideas on how we can innovate and automate our internal IT portfolio and services
- Learn about effective project delivery within an agile framework whilst meeting internal “customer” needs through your contributions to (and eventually owning) projects.
- Lead collaboration and contribution from different areas of our organisation across different countries to drive the success of your projects
- Build strong data skills where you’ll be using data to identify opportunities, spot trends and aid business decision making
- Develop a strong understanding of your internal “customers” so you can represent their voice in large-scale projects
Education Minimum Qualifications
You should be studying or hold an A Level or BTEC (or equivalent) and on track to achieve a minimum of 120 UCAS points. You should have GCSE grades A* to C in English & Maths.
Desired Qualifications
It’s preferred (but not essential) for you to have educational attainment in STEM subjects.
