Splunk is seeking an experienced sales leader for its UK Central Government, Health and Education team. At a time when UK public sector organisations are accelerating digital transformation, modernising citizen services, strengthening cyber resilience, and driving greater operational efficiency, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of public services across the UK. Reporting to the AVP for Public Sector UK&I, you will lead a team of Regional Sales Managers to build on the existing success Splunk enjoys in these markets, expand strategic opportunities, and grow new business across Central Government departments, healthcare organisations, and education institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Directly lead a sales team of 7 Regional Sales Managers and work closely with the resources available to support your business including presales, customer success, professional services, enablement, renewals, and the partner organisation.
  • Build a plan to deliver long‑term strategic success across UK Central Government, Health and Education.
  • Consistently deliver against license, support, and service revenue targets.
  • Negotiate profitable pricing and business terms with customers by demonstrating value and return on investment.
  • Bring to bear sales engineering and in‑house specialists, as well as partner services resources.
  • Act as a player/coach — highly hands‑on with the team and actively involved in account planning, strategy, and customer engagements.
  • Hire, lead, and develop the right team to match our growth ambitions.
  • Use our sales methodology and processes effectively.
  • Balance management of net new customer acquisition with the ability for your team to grow existing customers and develop the strategic accounts of the future.
  • Develop strong executive‑level relationships across government departments, NHS organisations, healthcare providers, universities, and education bodies.
  • Provide timely and insightful feedback to other corporate functions, particularly product management.

Requirements

  • Experience and understanding of selling within UK Central Government, Health and/or Education markets.
  • A successful track record of leading and building teams selling enterprise software — 5+ years.
  • A partner‑centric approach to selling and building a scalable business.
  • A growth mindset, with the ability to continuously learn, adapt, and evolve.
  • Strong executive presence and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and C‑suite leaders across public sector organisations.
  • Experience closing sophisticated, multi‑million‑pound software and SaaS deals through multi‑threaded networking and negotiation.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Able to orchestrate resources across a matrix environment.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create mutually beneficial outcomes for customers.
  • Able to maintain a high level of efficiency and consistency in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.
