About this role
Isovalent, now part of Cisco, is seeking a technical lead to join our core Cilium team (Networking and Frameworks). As a technical lead, you will develop and help design core parts of Cilium's agent and datapath, as well as technically mentoring other team members. This is an amazing opportunity to join the team that created eBPF and Cilium and push the envelope on the networking of Kubernetes and eBPF.
What you'll do:
- Developing high-quality golang and eBPF code for the Cilium OSS/Enterprise and golang ebpf library, while following open source development principles and best practices
- Technical guidance and mentorship
- Active participation in the open-source community
- Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with golang, C, and some eBPF knowledge
- Experience in Linux systems design and networking
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience in technical leadership roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cilium K8s CNI
- 3+ years of experience writing eBPF programs
- Desire to write high quality and efficient code
- Previous experience in tech lead roles is a plus
- A public track record of open-source code commits is a plus
- Experience in public speaking at technical open source conferences is a plus
