The Platform Team builds and operates all the web and server-side components for Connected Devices, helping customers access, control, and get value from their data. We’re a small but well-rounded team and our work has lots of angles: scaling our architecture for the next level of growth, building new features to help our customers get even more value and joining up with the rest of ThousandEyes to push the whole platform to the next level. Cisco is moving fast on AI, both in the product and in our tooling and there’s lots of opportunity to push this forward in Connected Devices too.

Your Impact

  • Create code across our backend estate touching high volume streaming, responsive backend-for-frontend APIs, scalable domain services, transactional and analytical databases and more.
  • Ensure the resilience and robustness of our platform to keep our customers having a great experience.
  • Design technical solutions for new product offerings and evolutions of our existing architecture.
  • Evolve our development and operational processes so we can keep getting faster, more reliable and with even higher quality.
  • Help your teammates evolve their skills and practice through practical mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expert-level understanding of Java or Kotlin.
  • Wide experience working distributed systems especially using Apache Kafka.
  • Strong architecture and design skills including data and API modelling.
  • On-the-job experience with agentic AI development including skills and harness development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Knowledge of Kotlin and Golang.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and modern cloud deployment.
  • Exposure to a variety of datastore technologies covering transactional and analytical, relational and document-based.
