The Duty Shift Manager will be responsible for supporting the Management Team in delivering the smooth and efficient running of the Security Service. This site is a mixed-use development in Victoria, London, comprising approximately 470,000 sq ft of premium office, retail, and community space. Designed with sustainability and wellbeing at its core, the project features extensive rooftop terraces, an urban farm, a "walk and talk" track and community-focused public spaces.

Position: Duty Shift Manager

Location: London (SW1E)

Pay Rate: £45,000 per annum

Hours: Average 42 hours per week

Shifts: 4 On 4 Off - Days, Nights & Weekends

Job Requirements:

  • SIA Licence required.
  • Experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor/Lead Officer is required.
  • Excellent communication both written & verbal & customer service.
  • Reliable, Responsible and Punctual.
  • To have a smart appearance befitting the company.
  • Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Be calm under pressure and confident in dealing with confrontational situations.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as on your own.
  • CCTV & First Aid qualifications are desirable.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the deployment of the security team to ensure that a satisfactory security presence is maintained on site as required by the customer representative(s).
  • To ensure that all security personnel adhere to their duties and policies and procedures of the site and report any breach of these immediately to your line manager.
  • To ensure that discipline is maintained on shift including the wearing of full uniform and punctuality of officers.
  • To ensure the handover is checked at the beginning of the shift to ensure all vital details are carried out before their time.
  • To ensure the highest standards of customer care are maintained at all times when dealing with staff and visitors to the site.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain staff discipline, standards, and conduct.
  • To keep a proactive outlook and regular patrol all aspects of the site/s.
  • Oversee that the contracts officers are all performing to the required standards and take appropriate actions to remedy any shortfalls.
  • Monitor patrols are being adequately completed and to the expected frequency.
  • Liaise regularly with CIS Managers and senior Supervisors ensuring that they are kept updated on all important aspects.
  • Regularly audit site equipment & ensure that site paperwork is correctly maintained.
  • Ensure correct deployment of staff.
  • Build a relationship with our main Control Room to both understand each other's requirements.
  • Establish a thorough understanding of the site specification and monitor the frequencies of all activities ensuring they are current and in line with expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and establish and maintain a good reputation with all.
  • Respond to communication in a professional and timely manner.
  • Identify any training needs for your staff and feedback to your line management whilst completing appropriate training documentation and records.
  • Take a proactive approach to increasing the services offered to customers.
  • Ensure any changes to site operations are referenced and included within the Assignment Instructions for the site against which all Security Officers should be assessed to ensure their understanding and compliance.
  • Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of CIS and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues, and customers.
  • Regularly inspect all administrative, health and safety and quality procedures and ensure you and your team are compliant.
  • Ensure that all required risk audits are completed, and any issues escalated to your line management.
  • Monitor the Security Officers performance, conduct annual appraisals in line with company policy and encourage their personal development.
  • Attend all required meetings with the customer and your line management in support of the company's aim of consistent quality service delivery.
  • Ensure that you complete and submit timesheets/holiday and sickness forms within the given timescales.
  • Liaise closely with your Team to ensure that they are aware of the changing requirements of the contract.
  • Monitor absence levels on shift and engage with your line management to reduce any ongoing absence issues.
  • Take detailed notes of all investigatory/capability actions taken against employees making sure that all such matters are first referred to the Senior Security Supervisor or Account Manager.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests made by CIS management.
