CIS Security is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious heritage and science site located in Edinburgh. This role calls for a professional ambassador who will represent CIS Security with integrity and pride, delivering high-quality guarding and exceptional customer service to both our clients and visitors. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at one of the city's most iconic cultural and educational landmarks.
Position: Security Officer
Location: Edinburgh (EH9)
Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour
Hours: Average 24 hours per week
Shifts: Various Shifts
Job Requirements:
- SIA Licence required
- Security and customer service experience is required
- Must be flexible and be able to work; days, nights, weekends and have the flexibility to change shifts due to operational needs
- Must have good command of English language
- Good levels of customer service, communication both written & verbal
- Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site
- Maintains working knowledge of the locations & security & safety for assigned areas
- First Aid qualification & a CCTV SIA Licence is a bonus
- Must have five years of checkable work history
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users
- Able to work in a team as well as on your own and can be pro-active and think on your feet
- Be calm under pressure and confident in dealing with confrontational situations in a calm and professional manner
- Physically fit to complete patrols internally and externally and able to stand/walk during shift
- Confident in writing incident and shift reports
- To always portray a friendly, professional and courteous demeanour, using open and appropriate body language
- To ensure that all visitors and staff are dealt with efficiently, providing an exceptional customer service ensuring that their expectations are met, if not exceeded
- The role includes you to conduct opening & closing procedures of a building, patrolling, reception duties, access control, answering incoming telephone calls, conducting emergency procedures
- You will be part of a team seeing this site through from refurbishment to business as usual and must be comfortable working on a construction site moving into an office environment
- To have a smart appearance befitting the company
- Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties
- Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested
