Position Overview
Location: Birmingham (B3 3AX)
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Hours: Average 24 hours per week
Shifts: Various shifts – days, nights, weekends
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and deliver high‑quality guarding and customer service to customers and service users.
- Work independently and in a team, proactively tackling challenges and thinking on feet.
- Remain calm under pressure and handle confrontational situations confidently.
- Perform internal and external patrols; stand and walk during shifts.
- Write incident and shift reports accurately.
- Vertically handle visitors and staff efficiently, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Use IT systems, Access Control, and CCTV platforms effectively.
- Compose and respond to emails professionally.
- Exercise command and control; communicate effectively with peers and management.
- Understand and execute the corporate escalation process, disseminating information timely.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures, reception duties, access control, telephone answering, and emergency procedures.
Job Requirements
- SIA licence required.
- Minimum 1 year of corporate security, concierge, or front‑of‑house experience (advantage).
- Ex‑forces or police background an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent command of English and good IT skills.
- Reliable, responsible, punctual, friendly, professional, courteous, and outgoing.
- Professional appearance and immaculate presentation.
- Flexible approach to daily duties and additional on‑site events.
- First Aid qualification and CCTV SIA licence desirable.
- Capable of undertaking 100% of specific duties.
- Able to provide all required documentation and vetting information.
