Are you a hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with advanced technology, and being part of a highly skilled engineering team? We're looking for an ambitious and adaptable Simulation Systems Maintenance Engineer to support and maintain sophisticated real-time simulation systems used in the development and testing of cutting‑edge engineering technology. This is a genuinely unique opportunity to work with complex electro‑mechanical equipment, multi‑axis hydraulic motion systems, control systems, and advanced simulation environments where no two days are the same.
The Role
As a Simulation Systems Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring critical simulation facilities and equipment remain fully operational and performing at their best. You'll support both planned and reactive maintenance activities across a range of highly specialised systems, including hydraulic motion platforms, control systems, and positioning equipment. The role is highly varied and combines practical engineering, fault finding, system analysis, and continuous improvement activities. Working within a collaborative team of experienced engineers, you'll be encouraged to contribute ideas, solve technical challenges, and continuously develop your engineering capability.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and supporting advanced real‑time simulation systems
- Fault finding and troubleshooting electro‑mechanical equipment
- Supporting hydraulic motion systems and control equipment
- Carrying out planned preventative and corrective maintenance
- Interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings
- Working with CAD models and technical documentation
- Supporting testing and engineering activities within a complex technical environment
- Contributing to system reliability, performance improvement, and engineering best practice
What We’re Looking For
- Hydraulic systems
- Control systems or automation
- Mechanical or electrical fault finding
- CAD experience, ideally CREO
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Workshop and tooling experience
- Mechatronics & Robotics, or electro‑mechanical systems
- Maintenance of complex engineering equipment
- Strong practical problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working at height where required
- IT literacy and experience using engineering or maintenance systems
You’ll ideally hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics & Robotics, Aeronautical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a highly specialised engineering environment where you'll develop a broad and valuable technical skillset whilst working on complex, high‑performance systems. If you enjoy hands‑on engineering, technical problem solving, and working with advanced simulation technology, we'd love to hear from you.
Security
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be either sole British Citizens or dual nationals with British Citizenship and will be required to undergo security clearance checks to SC Level.
