This is a Senior Structural Engineer position embedded in a Special Projects team working on some of the most operationally sensitive platforms in UK defence. The work is classified, the problems are genuinely hard, and the impact is real.

You will own complex structural analysis end-to-end, FEA modelling, damage tolerance, fatigue life, dynamic and thermal assessments, across metallic and composite structures. Your outputs will feed directly into design reviews, manufacturing instructions, and MoD submissions. You will not be checking someone else's work. You will be the expert in the room.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of structural analysis experience on metallic and composite structures.
  • Solid FEA skills, MSC Nastran is the baseline, with any experience of Patran, Simcenter, ANSA a bonus.
  • Confident with hand calculations, fatigue prediction, and writing clear, concise strength reports that stand up to scrutiny.
  • You will need to be eligible for, and willing to pursue, DV clearance. You can start on BPSS while the process runs.

Why this one?

  • Four-day week (Monday to Thursday).
  • A small, technically strong team where your experience will be valued rather than lost.
  • And the chance to work on programmes that actually matter.
