You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production, driving planning excellence, improving processes, and ensuring manufacturing schedules are delivered on time, to cost, and to the highest quality standards.

Location: Bolton (Full-time on-site due to workload classification)

The Opportunity

As Manufacturing Planning & Control Manager, you'll report directly to the Head of Operations and lead a dedicated planning team responsible for delivering the Manufacturing Planning Schedule across multiple programmes. You will be responsible for ensuring planning activities are efficient, accurate, and aligned with production demand, while driving continuous improvement across planning processes, systems, and supply chain performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing the Manufacturing Planning & Control team
  • Owning and delivering the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS)
  • Managing SAP planning activities, production orders, and material planning
  • Working closely with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust end-to-end planning
  • Supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities
  • Driving improvements to planning processes, KPIs, and business performance
  • Enhancing SAP functionality, MRP integrity, and reporting capability
  • Leading planning system improvements alongside analysts and subject matter experts
  • Ensuring accurate delivery commitments and strong on-time delivery performance
  • Acting as the technical and cultural leader for planning excellence across the manufacturing function

About You

We're looking for an experienced planning leader who enjoys improving processes, developing people, and influencing change. You will ideally have:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong Supply Chain or Manufacturing Planning experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous leadership experience managing planning or supply chain teams
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP or another MRP/ERP planning system
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing planning, scheduling, and material control
  • The ability to influence stakeholders across Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to lead change
  • APICS Supply Chain certification would be advantageous, but is not essential
