About Our Team

We’re seeking an innovative and driven Product Owner to join our Data Systems team, with an initial focus on flight data. This team develops and manages our suite of industry-leading datasets, which are central to our business and success. Your role will be to ensure the data powering these products exceeds customer expectations.

About The Role

You will be part of the Product Owner team within Cirium, working closely with Agile development teams. Your responsibilities include owning and prioritizing the product backlog, gathering requirements from stakeholders, and managing dependencies. Building strong relationships across Cirium and serving as the main contact between the development team, departments, and external stakeholders will be key. Your goal is to deliver innovative products that adapt to the fast-paced aviation analytics industry. Excellent communication skills are essential to translate complex requirements into user stories and ensure effective collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the agile team’s primary objectives and goals for each release.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UX Design, Tech, Security, and QA teams on sprint planning.
• Lead agile ceremonies including backlog reviews, sprint reviews, stand-ups, test case reviews, and retrospectives.
• Plan release capacity considering engineering resources for upcoming sprints.
• Coordinate with product/data managers on ticket readiness before backlog reviews.
• Ensure a clear Definition of Done for every ticket.
• Balance continuous improvement with addressing technical debt.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies. Experience in aviation analytics is a plus.
• Proficiency with issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Familiarity with data analytics and machine-readable products is highly desirable.
• Experience with complex data transformation projects using APIs.
• Exceptional communication skills to translate complex requirements into clear user stories and epics.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams across various departments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet industry needs.
• Deep understanding of customer needs to ensure products exceed expectations.
• Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
