About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior SEO Account Manager to take full ownership of SEO delivery across our client portfolio. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can manage client relationships, build and execute strategy, and be fully accountable for performance and quality. You’ll work closely with our Director of Search, with autonomy over delivery while operating within a clear, structured framework.
Key responsibilities
- Own SEO delivery end-to-end for a portfolio of clients.
- Lead client relationships, including strategy development, ongoing communication, and confidence in delivery.
- Build, maintain, and execute SEO strategies across technical SEO, on‑page, content, and authority.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of AI‑driven search (e.g. Google’s AI Overviews, LLM‑led discovery, changing SERP behaviour) and incorporate this into SEO strategy and recommendations.
- Use AI tools practically to improve SEO workflows, including research, analysis, content planning, reporting, and delivery efficiency.
- Plan and manage your own workload and priorities in line with capacity targets.
- Brief, manage and quality‑check freelance resource (content, links, specialist SEO).
- Own reporting, tracking, and performance analysis, ensuring progress is clearly measured and insights are communicated proactively to clients.
- Be accountable for performance, retention, and delivery quality across your client portfolio.
- Own and manage the agency’s own SEO as if it were a client, including roadmap, execution, and performance tracking.
- Ensure work is delivered efficiently, consistently, and to a high standard, following agreed processes.
Required experience
- 3‑5+ years’ SEO experience, ideally agency‑side.
- Strong technical SEO knowledge (audits, implementations, migrations, troubleshooting).
- Confident building and executing SEO strategies, not just following instructions.
- Experience managing priorities, time, and external resource effectively.
- Comfortable being accountable for outcomes, not just activity.
- Experience with social search (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit) and how it intersects with SEO.
- Exposure to or collaboration with digital PR for authority and link acquisition.
- Understanding of CRO principles and how SEO performance ties into conversion.
