Circular Resourcing are working with a growing EPC company delivering utility-scale solar projects across the UK. We are recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead new solar / BESS projects from development through to energisation. The Senior Project Manager will take full ownership of utility scale renewables projects across the entire lifecycle — from initial site identification, planning, and permitting through to construction management and final commissioning. This is a leadership role right at the heart of the businesses long term growth strategy in the UK. The role can be based from anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to spend 2-3 days on site across a number of projects in the South of England.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end project management of utility-scale projects
- Taking the lead on planning applications, grid connection, DNO coordination and grid connections.
- Managing various EPC contracts, procurement, and subcontractor performance
- Acting as Principal Contractor and/or Principal Designer under CDM 2015
- Budget control, programme management, and risk mitigation
- Stakeholder management — developers, investors, local authorities, and DNOs
- Ensuring HSE compliance across all project phases
- Reporting progress to senior leadership and investors
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- Demonstrable project management experience in UK utility-scale solar EPC projects
- Strong knowledge of UK planning system, grid connection process, and CDM 2015
- SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent H&S certification (preferred)
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, and contract management skills
