Circular Resourcing are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading owner/operator of Utility Scale Solar/BESS Projects in Berkshire. You will join a small, dynamic Engineering Team currently managing a pipeline of opportunities across the UK. The role will be hybrid, with some travel expected to sites in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects from development through to construction stages.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, layouts, and documentation in compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including planning, development, and grid specialists to optimise project integration.
  • Support grid connection and compliance activities in line with UK regulations and standards.

Experience:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrable history in planning new connections, preparing and submitting grid applications, reviewing offers for solar and/or storage.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK distribution (and preferably transmission) networks, the grid connection processes, relevant codes/legislation and roles of the various key parties involved.
  • Knowledge of the electrical design of solar PV and battery storage plants.
  • Ability to identify and manage technical and commercial risk in new grid connections.
  • Experience in a system planning, connection design or similar role would be advantageous.
