We have an opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist to join their team of staff in the Paediatrics department.
This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include
- Independently assess and treat patients with more complex needs across inpatient or outpatient settings.
- Develop individualised treatment plans using a variety of physiotherapy techniques to optimise recovery, function, and independence.
- Manage a designated caseload efficiently, prioritising based on clinical urgency and discharge planning needs.
- Act as a point of contact for junior physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students, offering guidance and informal supervision.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records in line with HCPC, CSP, and local policy.
- Demonstrate commitment to ongoing CPD and reflective practice to support your development as a senior clinician.
- Perform complex physical examinations tailored to growing skeletal structures and developmental milestones.
- Recognise complex physical or psychological conditions and identify non-MSK issues requiring safeguarding or specialised medical referrals
Applicants should meet the following criteria
- HCPC-registered Physiotherapist.
- Solid post-registration experience across a range of clinical areas.
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to team working and service improvement.
- Evidence of CPD including attendance of post graduate short courses relevant to physiotherapy paediatric assessment and management.
- Awareness of the differences of a Paediatric versus adult caseload
- Evidence of a minimum 2 years of paediatric experience treating MSK and neuro-developmental conditions.
