Senior Theatre PractitionerGoring Hall Hospital37.5 Hours & PermanentSalary: Up to £44,372.66 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)Goring Hall Hospital in West Sussex is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.We have an opportunity for a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatres department.This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.Duties of this role include:Act as the senior scrub for a range of orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacements, arthroscopies, trauma, and spinal surgeries.Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment (e.g., power tools, implants, navigation systems) in line with manufacturers' guidance and surgical protocols.Provide skilled assistance to the surgical and anaesthetic teams, anticipating needs and adapting to changes during procedures.Take a senior role in preparing theatres, coordinating surgical lists, and ensuring all equipment, staff, and resources are in place.Support the Theatre Manager with team briefings, scheduling, stock control, and ensuring safe patient flow through the theatre suite.Supervise junior theatre practitioners, ODPs, and healthcare assistants, providing clinical guidance and oversight during shifts.Applicants should meet the following criteria:Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).Significant experience in the perioperative setting with specialist knowledge in orthopaedic surgery.Proven ability to scrub for a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, including complex cases.Experience in both scrub and anaesthetics is desirable.Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.Strong understanding of clinical governance, infection control, and safety practices in theatre.Previous experience in a senior role within theatres.Experience with robotic-assisted surgery or advanced orthopaedic navigation tools.Mentorship or teaching qualification.ILS/ALS certification.Familiarity with private healthcare processes, scheduling, and implant stock systems.Salary & BenefitsCircle Health Group is committed to offering competitive starting salaries and access to a wide range of employee benefits, including:25 days holiday per year + bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with servicePrivate Pension SchemePrivate Healthcare Scheme for treatment at our hospitals, covering pre-existing medical conditionsFriends & Family Hospital DiscountsFamily Friendly policies, including enhanced Maternity, Paternity & Adoption payNon-contributory life insuranceStaff engagement hub with access to discounts and extensive rewards and voluntary benefitsAccess to resources, tools and services to support your wellbeingEmployee recognition programmesIndustry leading training and development opportunities...and much more!Circle Health Group is committed to creating a diverse workforce offering inclusive opportunities for all our colleagues.
