Salary: Up to £50,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Cluster Lead to join their team of staff in the Health & Safety department.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week.

The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

This role will require frequent travel between our sites in Manchester, Lancaster and St Helen.

Duties of this role include

  • You will partner with Senior Management Teams (SMTs) in your cluster of sites, in ensuring compliance with incumbent H&S legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and the implementation of CHG policies.
  • You are the Health and Safety Advisor's \"senior\" and provide ongoing support and mentorship to them and act as their immediate point of contact as required.
  • You effectively collaborate and communicate with the HSCA; leading on meeting objectives to improve cluster site health and safety performance, consistency and compliance across your cluster sites, prioritising actions commensurate with risk.
  • You can demonstrate an appropriate level of compliance with the relevant health and safety standards to CHG's regulators, i. e., the CQC, HIS, HIW, HSE, EA, local government agents and other stakeholders as required.
  • You cooperate and coordinate in achieving the designated H&S time allocation (attendance) for each site in your cluster with the HSCL, leading and making strategic adjustments as needed.
  • You assist in identifying and sharing both best practice and lessons learned following incidents that occur within your cluster

Applicants should meet the following criteria

  • 5 years H&S management experience in healthcare
  • Competence in undertaking a wide range of Risk Assessments.
  • Contractor safety management experience.
  • Training and presenting experience.
  • Level 3 qualification in H&S Management
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
  • H&S professional registration (IOSH registration and evidence of CPD).
  • Technical Fire safety knowledge
  • Ability to identify, understand and interpret relevant health and safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and guidance, and to advice managers on the required risk control measures.
  • RCA / Incident investigation skill.
  • Experience undertaking audits.
