Our client is a highly regarded boutique investment bank with one of the most active restructuring franchises in Europe. Their London team advises companies, creditors, and sponsors on complex situations across the capital structure, and the pipeline going into the next twelve months is strong.
They are looking to bring on a Senior Associate or VP1/VP2 to take on real responsibility from day one. This is not a seat where you'll be buried in the deal team β you'll be running workstreams, owning client dialogue, and mentoring analysts and associates beneath you. For the right person, the path to VP (or onward progression at VP level) is clear and meritocratic.
What the role involves:
- You'll work on a mix of debtor and creditor-side mandates, covering financial restructurings, liability management, distressed M&A, and capital raises for stressed and distressed credits.
- Expect direct exposure to senior bankers, lawyers, and clients, with genuine ownership of the technical work β three-statement models, liquidity and covenant analysis, recovery waterfalls, and the strategic thinking that sits around it.
What our client is looking for:
- Approximately 4β7 years of relevant experience, pitched at Senior Associate or VP1/VP2 level.
- Background in one of the following teams: Restructuring, Debt Advisory or Leverage finance team at an investment bank or boutique.
- Big 4 restructuring teams.
- Strong technical foundation β three-statement modelling, credit analysis, and a solid grasp of capital structures and intercreditor dynamics.
- Track record of taking ownership of workstreams and engaging directly with clients and counterparties.
- Commercial instincts to match the technical skill set, with the confidence to hold their own in senior settings.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior bankers.
- Strong academics and a clear interest in restructuring as a long-term career path.
