Our client is seeking to hire a Senior Analyst and Associate 1 to join their world-class Restructuring team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on high-profile, complex restructuring mandates across a diverse range of sectors and geographies, advising corporates, financial sponsors, and creditors on some of the most challenging situations in the market. The Restructuring team is recognised as a market leader, consistently ranking among the top advisors globally. You will work alongside senior professionals with decades of experience, gaining exposure to landmark transactions while developing your expertise in one of the most intellectually stimulating areas of investment banking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Execution: Lead the execution of complex restructuring transactions including distressed M&A, debt restructurings, liability management exercises, and formal insolvency proceedings. Develop comprehensive financial models and perform detailed credit analysis to assess various restructuring alternatives. Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and transaction documentation. Coordinate with legal advisors, accountants, and other third-party professionals throughout transaction lifecycles.
- Client Advisory: Provide strategic advice to corporates, financial sponsors, and creditor groups on restructuring options and optimal capital structure solutions. Conduct thorough business and financial analysis to identify value creation opportunities. Support senior team members in client meetings and negotiations. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including management teams, sponsors, and creditor representatives.
- Market Analysis & Origination: Monitor market conditions and identify potential restructuring opportunities across various sectors. Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to support business development efforts. Assist in the preparation of thought leadership materials and market commentary. Support senior team members in pitch preparation and client origination activities.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience: 3-7 years of relevant experience in restructuring, distressed situations, or special situations. Experience gained from restructuring teams at bulge bracket or boutique investment banks, restructuring boutiques or specialist advisory firms, Big Four accounting firms (Restructuring, Debt restructuring, Financial restructuring, Special Situation teams). Turnaround or distressed private equity experience will also be considered.
Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling capabilities with particular expertise in distressed company analysis. Strong understanding of debt instruments, capital structures, and insolvency processes. Proficiency in valuation methodologies including DCF, trading multiples, and distressed asset valuations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial databases (Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.).
