We are working with a leading private equity firm to identify an exceptional investment professional at the Analyst 3 or Associate 1 level to join their specialist Metals & Mining team in London. The Role:
Sitting within a close-knit investment team, you will take meaningful ownership of deal execution and portfolio management from day one. You will work directly with senior investors and play an integral part in evaluating new opportunities across the metals and mining value chain — from upstream production assets through to downstream processing and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed financial modelling, including LBO, DCF, and commodity price scenario analysis
- Performing sector research and origination support, with a focus on base metals, precious metals, and critical minerals
- Supporting due diligence processes across technical, commercial, and financial workstreams
- Preparing investment committee materials, including investment memoranda and deal summaries
- Monitoring and supporting portfolio company performance and value creation initiatives
- Building and maintaining relationships with management teams, advisers, and industry contacts
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background combined with directly relevant transaction experience. You will be intellectually curious, commercially astute, and passionate about the resources sector.
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a closely related advisory role
- Demonstrable exposure to the metals, mining, or broader natural resources sector — whether through deal execution, coverage, or sector research
- Exceptional financial modelling skills with a strong understanding of commodity-linked businesses
- A proactive, detail‑oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present findings to senior stakeholders
