This is a hands-on role within a small, technically focused MSP where you'll have real involvement in how things are run not just picking up tickets, but improving systems, supporting clients, and helping keep everything moving behind the scenes.
You'll be working closely with the Managing Director and a team of experienced engineers, supporting a range of client environments across cloud, infrastructure, and security. It's a varied position with a mix of technical delivery, customer interaction, and internal coordination.
The role
Day to day, you'll be supporting and developing client cloud environments, with a strong focus on the Microsoft stack. That might mean improving deployments through scripting, keeping infrastructure and security information accurate, or rolling out updates across firewalls and network devices.
You'll also act as a reliable escalation point for more technical issues particularly around networking and firewalls while working closely with the support team to make sure service quality stays high.
Alongside the technical side, there's an element of coordination. You'll help keep things organised across the engineering team, making sure people have what they need, tracking changes in services or pricing, and supporting the general day-to-day running of a busy MSP environment.
Client interaction is a key part of the role as well. You'll build relationships over time, understand how different businesses operate, and help ensure the service being delivered actually meets their needs.
What they're looking for
They're open on background, but you'll need a solid foundation across infrastructure and cloud, and be comfortable working independently. Experience with firewalls (FortiGate would be ideal), Windows environments, and Microsoft 365 (including Conditional Access and SharePoint) is important. Any exposure to MDM or Power BI would be useful, but not essential.
More than anything, they're looking for someone who takes ownership someone who can manage their own workload, communicate clearly, and work with others to get things done without needing constant direction. Previous MSP or helpdesk experience would definitely help, given the pace and variety of the work.
Why it's worth a look
You'll get exposure to a wide range of technologies and client environments, which keeps things interesting and gives you the chance to keep building your skillset. Because of the size of the team, you'll also have more visibility and influence than you would in a larger organisation. If you improve something, you'll actually see the impact. There's also a clear opportunity to grow with the business over time as it continues to evolve. The package is flexible too, with options to tailor elements of your salary towards things like childcare or medical cover.
