About the Role

We’re looking for a Linux Administrator to join our clients growing IT team. In this hybrid role, you’ll be based in West Sussex, with the flexibility of remote working. With a salary from £35-50k, they offer some excellent benefits including a very strong bonus (10-30%), 29 days holiday (progressing up to 33), medical and dental coverage, and more.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Day-to-day administration and build of Linux servers, tools, workflows, automation, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
  • Assisting with server deployments, updates, and patches, new builds, maintenance, improvement.
  • Collaborating with developers and IT teams to automate processes and improve workflows.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Monitoring system performance and suggesting enhancements, Zabbix, Nagios etc.
  • Learning and contributing to scripting, automation, and configuration management tools.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience and geekery to show.
  • 12-18 months of Linux system administration experience (can be at home, but you WILL be expected to talk in depth / show your skills).
  • A busy GitHub showcasing your personal or collaborative projects (or enough private projects to show us your passion!).
  • An analytical mindset with a passion for creative problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Perl, Shell, Bash, Python) and configuration tools like Ansible or Terraform is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Genuine excitement about tech, building creative and clever ideas up.
