Cardiff - Hybrid 6-Month Contract (potential to extend) £350-400/day DOE (Outside IR35)
Our client is a professional services company in a highly regulated environment, and they are looking to hire an experienced IT & Data Manager to join their team for a 6-month contract, with potential to extend. In this role, you will be the person colleagues turn to for practical, solutions-focused IT support, while also helping shape the organisation's longer-term technology and data foundations. The environment is collaborative, fast-moving and low-bureaucracy - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and making a visible impact.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Hands-On IT & User Support
- Provide first- and second-line support across laptops, devices and workplace technology
- Troubleshoot issues across: Windows environments; Microsoft 365; user access and authentication; connectivity and basic networking
- Support onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and user provisioning
- Act as a visible, approachable on-site IT presence during a period of organisational growth
- Help establish effective collaboration, document management and information-sharing practices
- IT Oversight & Supplier Management
- Act as the internal technology lead and intelligent customer for the MSP
- Work with an external MSP on licensing, configuration and security controls
- Manage escalations and ensure issues are resolved effectively
- Monitor service quality, incident management and supplier performance
- Identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities
- Provide clear updates and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Support IT governance and cyber security oversight within a regulated environment
- Assist with documentation of controls, processes and supplier assurance activities
- Data & Information Management
- Support data consolidation from multiple external sources
- Assist with data structuring, organisation and readiness activities
- Help lay the groundwork for future enterprise-level data capabilities
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- Strong background in desktop and end-user IT support
- Hands-on experience supporting: Windows laptops and environments, M365, user access and security controls
- Experience working with managed service providers and confidence dealing with external suppliers
- Exposure to data migration, consolidation or data-related projects
- Confident operating in a growing, evolving organisation
- Comfortable supporting both technical and non-technical users
Desirable
- Experience within regulated professional service environments
- Practical data skills (SQL, reporting, data manipulation)
This is a 6-month contract (with potential to extend) paying £350-400/day (outside IR35) depending on experience.
