A fast-growing Managed Service Provider based near Broxbourne is looking for a Senior IT Engineer to join their close-knit team. This is a full-time, office-based role with travel to customer sites as required - a full UK driving licence is essential.
You will be the first point of contact but working at genuine 2nd and 3rd line depth - dealing with real issues and fixing them properly. You will get huge exposure across Windows, M365, Azure, networking, VoIP, and cyber security, as well as the opportunity to be a key part of something that is genuinely growing. Responsibilities- Providing 2nd line technical support remotely and on-site, troubleshooting and resolving complex IT issues efficiently and professionally.
- Working across Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and firewall technologies day to day.
- Configuring, deploying, and maintaining switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
- Troubleshooting networking, Wi-Fi, connectivity, VoIP, and security issues.
- Taking part in customer onboarding and site setup projects as the MSP continues to grow its client base.
- Ensuring cyber security best practices are implemented and maintained across client environments.
- Mentoring apprentices within the support team - sharing knowledge and helping them develop.
- Building strong relationships with clients and contributing to account management.
- Travelling to customer sites when required for onsite support and project work.
- Essential: 3+ years' experience in an MSP environment - essential.
- Proven 2nd line IT support experience with strong troubleshooting ability.
- Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge - Intune, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Azure AD.
- Solid networking fundamentals - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Hands-on firewall configuration and management experience.
- A good understanding of cyber security principles and a willingness to keep developing in this area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - this is key to the role.
- Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable keeping documentation up to date.
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK - both essential.
- Highly desirable: Relevant certifications - Microsoft, CompTIA, or cyber security.
- Intune device management - policies, application rollout, Autopilot deployments.
- Device deployment experience - MDT, SCCM etc.
- Office moves and site setups - networking, Wi-Fi, end-user environments.
- Experience mentoring or training junior team members.
- £35,000-£40,000 salary (DOE)
