Data Engineer with excellent experience in data engineering, data development, data integrations, SQL, Python, data warehousing, and Azure data platforms is required by a leading company near Warrington. Any experience with Snowflake, Kimball, Databricks, and ThoughtSpot would be a bonus. The role can be Hybrid, with 2 days in the office.

As part of an ongoing investment in data and analytics capabilities, they are seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing data team and help shape the future of their data platform.

Key Skills:

  • Strong SQL development experience as a Data Engineer / Data Developer
  • Experience developing data integrations and working with APIs
  • Experience using Python or another programming/scripting language
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies
  • Experience working with relational databases and database schema design
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes

This is a highly technical Data Engineer position focused on building, integrating and transforming data to support business intelligence, commercial decision-making and strategic growth. Working closely with the Finance Team, Commercial Analysts and wider Technology function, you will be responsible for extracting data from multiple source systems, developing integrations, maintaining data pipelines and supporting the ongoing evolution of the organisation's data architecture. The business is currently undertaking a major migration to Databricks and ThoughtSpot, creating an excellent opportunity to work with modern cloud-based data technologies while influencing the future direction of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Extract, transform and load data from a variety of sources including SQL databases, APIs and cloud platforms
  • Develop and maintain integrations between internal and third-party systems
  • Support the ongoing migration to Databricks and modern cloud data architectures
  • Build and optimise data models, schemas and warehouse structures
  • Collaborate with BI Developers to deliver accurate and scalable reporting solutions
  • Work with Finance, Commercial and Operational teams to understand business requirements and data challenges
  • Ensure data quality, integrity and governance across the platform
  • Contribute to the adoption of AI-enabled technologies and emerging data solutions
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency and data accessibility

We are looking for someone who goes beyond simply maintaining existing systems and is enthusiastic about improving processes, learning new tools and helping shape the future of the data platform.

The role is based near Warrington, and are looking to pay a starting salary between £50,000 - £55,000 + excellent benefits, such as private healthcare, 8% pension contributed by the company and lots of other benefits. Again, they are hybrid working, with 2 days in the office.
