Responsibilities

Assistant Manager responsibilities include:

• Assist the Store Manager with oversight of store operations.
• Help with hiring, supervising, and training staff.
• Manage daily tasks, bookkeeping, and merchandising.
• Maintain high standards and provide fast, friendly service to customers.
• Maintain predictable on‑site attendance.
• Execute high‑quality food program standards.
• Model urgency, patience, and leadership for the team.
• Lead a team of employees / management.
• Recruit, interview, and hire staff.
• Delegate tasks and follow up.
• Teach and motivate others.
• Plan and organize daily operations.
• Communicate plans and ideas effectively.
• Handle cash and maintain accurate bookkeeping.
• Solve problems and advocate for customers.
• Ensure safety and security of staff and customers.

Qualifications

• Retail experience.
• Supervisor or management experience.
• Recruiting / hiring / interviewing skills.
• Experience handling food.
• High School / College Degree(s).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Lift and carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (30 minutes per shift).
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level.
• Push or pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
• Bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour per shift.
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands; may involve ladder climbing to store items.
