Responsibilities
Assistant Manager responsibilities include:
- Assist the Store Manager with oversight of store operations.
- Help with hiring, supervising, and training staff.
- Manage daily tasks, bookkeeping, and merchandising.
- Maintain high standards and provide fast, friendly service to customers.
- Maintain predictable on‑site attendance.
- Execute high‑quality food program standards.
- Model urgency, patience, and leadership for the team.
- Lead a team of employees / management.
- Recruit, interview, and hire staff.
- Delegate tasks and follow up.
- Teach and motivate others.
- Plan and organize daily operations.
- Communicate plans and ideas effectively.
- Handle cash and maintain accurate bookkeeping.
- Solve problems and advocate for customers.
- Ensure safety and security of staff and customers.
Qualifications
- Retail experience.
- Supervisor or management experience.
- Recruiting / hiring / interviewing skills.
- Experience handling food.
- High School / College Degree(s).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (30 minutes per shift).
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level.
- Push or pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
- Bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour per shift.
- Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands; may involve ladder climbing to store items.
