Senior Registered Nurse - ITU (Bank) - Circle Health Group

Circle Health Group invites applications for the role of Senior Registered Nurse in the ITU department at The Park Hospital, Nottingham. The position is a bank role, working on an "as and when required" basis to cover staffing during busy periods, annual leave or absence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
• Administer medication safely and monitor patient response, ensuring adherence to NMC and local protocols.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring safe and effective workload management across the shift.
• Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision-making.
• Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions between services.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• Significant post‑registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient‑focused approach.
• Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursing role desirable.
• 3 years experience in critical care is essential.
• Must hold a critical care course and have completed National Step Competencies 1-3.

Compensation and Hours
