Circle Health Group invites applications for the role of Senior Registered Nurse in the ITU department at The Park Hospital, Nottingham. The position is a bank role, working on an "as and when required" basis to cover staffing during busy periods, annual leave or absence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care and lead on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
- Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
- Administer medication safely and monitor patient response, ensuring adherence to NMC and local protocols.
- Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring safe and effective workload management across the shift.
- Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
- Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision-making.
- Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions between services.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
- Significant post‑registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.
- Strong clinical decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient‑focused approach.
- Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursing role desirable.
- 3 years experience in critical care is essential.
- Must hold a critical care course and have completed National Step Competencies 1-3.
