Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across the Southeast of England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.
We have an opportunity for a Team Leader to join their team of staff. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the decontamination unit, ensuring efficient workflow and service continuity.
- Supervise staff rotas and shift patterns in alignment with departmental needs and raise discrepancies to senior staff.
- Operate and monitor decontamination equipment including ultrasonic machines, autoclaves, washer disinfectors and endoscopy washers.
- Ensure daily maintenance, validation and equipment testing are completed and appropriately recorded.
- Assist with the induction, training and mentoring of new and existing staff.
- Support the Production Manager with identifying staff training needs and contribute to appraisals and performance management.
- Experience working in a sterile services unit and endoscopy decontamination setting.
- Proficiency in the safe operation and testing of decontamination equipment.
- Working knowledge of track and trace systems, both manual and electronic.
- Institute of Decontamination Science Certificate (IDSc) or NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination.
- Good IT skills and familiarity with production documentation systems.
- Ability to work variable shifts including days, nights and weekends (Monday to Sunday).
