We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team of staff in the Pharmacy Department. This is a full‑time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern with cross‑site working across both The Saxon Clinic and Manor Hospital.
Duties include:
- Conduct medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation.
- Provide tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations.
- Support safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment.
- Review and authorise prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote safe and cost‑effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies.
- Collaborate with procurement, stock control, and pharmacy technicians to ensure medicine availability and supply continuity.
Qualifications:
- A degree in pharmacy (MPharm, BSc or BPharm).
- GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
- Previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation.
- Excellent communication and clinical decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Confident using electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (e.g., EPMA).
