We have an opportunity for a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre department at the Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden, part of Circle Health Group. The role involves supporting both surgical and anaesthetic teams in orthopaedic and other specialisms.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety.
- Support the anaesthetist with equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, positioning, and post‑operative care including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, nausea, and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.
- Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements.
- Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists.
- Support and contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in Orthopaedic Scrub and other specialisms.
- Must be able to travel to the sister site – The Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe – for dual‑site working.
Working Conditions
This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.
