Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive MSK assessments of routine and complex patients in a primary care setting, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses, management plans, and prognoses, and initiate appropriate interventions including self-management strategies.
- Work alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APPs), GPs, MSK Podiatrists, and other clinicians as part of the integrated MSK service.
- Participate in cross-discipline referral triage and contribute to care navigation, ensuring patients are seen by the right professional, in the right setting, at the right time.
- Contribute to ongoing development and innovation within the MSK service, including pathway development and use of technology to enhance access and outcomes.
- Actively engage in in-service training (IST), clinical supervision, and peer review processes to maintain and improve service quality.
Qualifications
- HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with significant post-registration experience in MSK.
- Demonstrated competence in advanced assessment and management of MSK conditions.
- Experience working autonomously in a primary care, GP, or extended scope setting.
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
- Understanding of current NHS frameworks, MSK pathways, and population health strategies.
- Minimum 7 years dedicated musculoskeletal clinical experience.
- Applicants are required to have prior experience within the NHS.
- Applicants must have successfully completed Stage 1 of the FCP Road Map to Practice and desirably currently enrolled in Stage 2.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Up to £62,682.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) as part of Circle Health Group, Britain\\\’s leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a First Contact Practitioner to join their team. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
