Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day clinical service delivery with a high degree of professionalism, ensuring effective deployment of staff and provision of a high quality, responsive, patient-focused service. You will maintain ongoing dialogue with Consultant Radiologists on all clinical aspects of Imaging service delivery and support the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in maximising sessional use.

You will support the DCS by attending meetings (minimum annual) with Radiologists to discuss clinical and operational issues. Building and maintaining excellent multi-disciplinary consultant relations is essential to ensure clinical service delivery meets clinical requirements.

Monitoring all revenue capture procedures and ensuring that charges are completed, checked, and dispatched in a timely manner is part of your role. You will conduct radiographic examinations as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi-professional team in line with professional and departmental standards.

Managing the daily workload, optimising scanner efficiency, developing protocols, and organising staffing (including 5.5-day service coverage) are key responsibilities.

  • Experience working in an acute hospital setting in a Senior Radiography post or equivalent.
  • Experience of customer care, including interacting with challenging customers and situations.
  • Extensive clinical experience (3 - 5 years) in MRI.
  • Experience with multiple vendors (e.g., Siemens, GE) and advanced techniques such as Cardiac MRI (CMR).
  • A Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within a multi-modality imaging department.
  • A wide general radiographic background with expertise in one or more specialised areas.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare service sector and the systems and processes used.
  • Aware of College of Radiographers and HCPC Code of Conduct / Accountability.
  • Knowledge of IRMER and IRR17 Regulations.
  • Assisting with budgeting and managing resource efficiency.

Role details: This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
