We have an opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

  • Assess, plan, and deliver specialist occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual patient goals.
  • Support patients in developing independence with personal care, domestic tasks, functional mobility, and cognitive or sensory challenges.
  • Manage a complex caseload independently, providing specialist input into treatment plans and discharge decisions.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and day-to-day support to junior therapists, assistants, and students.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with HCPC and organisational standards.
  • Support service evaluation, audit, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care efficiency.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant post-registration experience across relevant clinical settings (e.g. acute, rehabilitation, mental health, community).
  • Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention planning skills.
  • Experience supervising junior staff or students.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork abilities.
