Head of Clinical Systems Head Office - London
37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £90,000 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Head of Clinical Systems to join their team of staff in the Group IT department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week.
The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include
- Lead and manage the Clinical Systems function, including application specialists and support resources.
- Ensure effective day‑to‑day operation, support, incident management, and change control for all clinical systems.
- Ensure high‑quality operational support, incident management, and change delivery across all clinical systems.
- Oversee the Clinical Applications and Imaging Managers in the development and delivery of operational service plans, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop, own, and execute service improvement plans for all clinical systems, focused on: Clinical safety and quality User experience and adoption Operational efficiency and productivity System performance, resilience, and availability
- Own strategic relationships with clinical system suppliers and vendors.
Work with Vendor team and be SME lead contract management, supplier performance, and commercial negotiations.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior clinicians, operational leaders, and executive stakeholders.
Applicants should meet the following criteria
- Significant leadership experience managing clinical systems and applications teams within complex healthcare environments, providing clear strategic direction, developing high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to plan, organise and manage resources effectively, ensuring the right skills, capacity, and operational structures are in place to support business-critical clinical systems and deliver organisational priorities.
- Extensive experience overseeing the delivery, support, optimisation, and lifecycle management of clinical systems, ensuring services remain stable, secure, and aligned with clinical and operational needs.
- Strong organisational and programme oversight capabilities, managing multiple operational priorities, system upgrades, service improvements, and digital transformation initiatives while maintaining service continuity.
- Demonstrated capability to lead service improvement and optimisation programmes, improving clinical workflows, system adoption, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership, working closely with senior clinicians, operational leaders, and executive teams to ensure clinical systems support safe and effective patient care.
- Strong experience in supplier and vendor management, including contract oversight, service performance management, and ensuring third‑party partners deliver value and quality.
- Solid understanding of clinical safety, governance, and regulatory compliance, ensuring systems are managed in a safe, secure, and compliant manner.
- Experience with core clinical applications or similar healthcare systems, including radiology, imaging, order communications, cardiology, and endoscopy platforms.
Ideally including systems such as Magentus CRIS, Intelerad PACS, Maxims Order Communications, Space Labs Cardiology, i Qemo, and Medilogik Endoscopy, or comparable technologies.
