Principal Consultant – Hybrid Cloud

We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant – Hybrid Cloud to take a leadership role in defining, designing, and delivering large-scale hybrid cloud solutions for a client based in West Sussex. This hybrid working role requires occasional travel to client sites (fully expensed). Alongside a competitive salary of £65k-£100k, the position offers excellent benefits including a very aggressive (10-30%) bonus, 29 days holiday (progressing up to 33 days), medical and dental coverage, and much more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Oversight : Provide comprehensive architectural direction for all hybrid cloud projects, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with client objectives and best practices.
- Strategic Leadership : Shape and execute the strategic vision for the hybrid cloud practice, adapting to evolving market trends and aligning with broader business goals.
- Business Development : Identify new opportunities, develop strategic proposals, and secure client engagements to grow the hybrid cloud practice.
- Project Leadership : Oversee the planning and successful delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with leaders across service lines, including cloud (AWS), virtualisation (Nutanix), networking, and storage, to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Thought Leadership : Represent the organisation at industry events, publish insights, and present case studies to influence best practices internally and within the wider industry.
- Mentorship & Team Development : Guide senior consultants and team members, fostering a culture of growth and learning. Provide support on complex technical challenges and career development.
- Operational Excellence : Optimise service delivery processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in the hybrid cloud practice.
- Client Engagement : Act as a trusted advisor and escalation point for complex client issues, maintaining and strengthening key relationships through exceptional service delivery.
- Innovation : Drive innovation by developing and implementing new hybrid cloud strategies and solutions that address client needs and advance the organisation’s capabilities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Expertise in hybrid cloud architecture, with in-depth knowledge of AWS, Nutanix, VMware, and cross-platform environments.
- Strong experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible, as well as infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver large, multi-disciplinary cloud projects.
- Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to build strong, trust-based relationships.
- Experience in business development, proposal creation, and securing client engagements.
- Thought leadership experience, including speaking at industry events or publishing insights.
- Familiarity with Agile practices and a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
