IT Infrastructure Engineer with good 2nd line and some 3rd line IT Support experience in Microsoft Server, network infrastructure & cloud infrastructure in Azure is required by a leading company based in central Cardiff. The role will be 3 days in the office, and 2 days working from home, so you must be able to commute to the Cardiff office. This role would suit a more junior IT infrastructure engineer / 2nd line IT engineer, looking for that step in their career! You will work alongside skilled senior engineers to deliver service to users across the firm. As well as troubleshooting issues, you will also work with the team to develop the firm's systems and networks.
Skills and experience:
- Strong 2nd / 3rd line IT support, acting as a point of escalation for complex issues
- Experience in Microsoft Server administrator as a minimum requirement
- Excellent experience with Virtualisation, InTune & Modern Workplace Technologies
- Experience supporting Azure cloud-based solutions
- Experience working with backup software - ideally Veeam
- Networking knowledge around areas including patching and SAN, etc.
The role is due to growth and a big expansion of the IT team, so it is a brilliant time to join. They have some massive projects in the pipeline that you can get involved in from day 1.
Duties Include:
- Deliver and maintain a resilient IT infrastructure aligned with current and future business requirements.
- Administer and support Microsoft Server environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and optimal performance.
- Implement, monitor, and enhance infrastructure security controls, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Work closely with the IT Operations, Senior Service Desk, & Security teams to define, implement, and maintain IT policies and procedures.
- Support and integrate cloud services, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Perform regular system audits and produce reports to support informed strategic decisions.
The client is looking to pay a starting salary of between £35,000 and £40,000 hybrid working benefits.
