About the Role:
Circet UK is seeking a highly experienced and strategically driven Head of Commercial to lead and develop the Commercial function within Circet Wireless, with primary responsibility for protecting and improving contract profitability through effective commercial management, contractual governance, margin optimisation, revenue assurance and proactive client-facing commercial engagement.
The Head of Commercial will drive commercial performance across all projects and programmes, ensuring contractual entitlements are maximised, costs are effectively controlled, commercial risks are mitigated, clients are held to account against their contractual obligations, and opportunities to improve margin, revenue recovery and cash generation are identified and delivered.
The role will provide strategic leadership to the Commercial and Quantity Surveying teams, ensuring accurate WIP reporting, robust commercial controls, and strong collaboration with Operations and Finance to maximise business performance and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities of Head of Commercial:
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Commercial and Quantity Surveying teams.
- Drive margin improvement and profitability across all contracts and programmes.
- Ensure robust commercial governance, contract compliance and risk management.
- Maximise recovery of contractual entitlements, variations and additional revenues.
- Own the accuracy and integrity of WIP reporting and commercial forecasting.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Finance to improve financial performance and cash generation.
- Provide commercial insight and strategic guidance to support business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement across commercial processes, systems and reporting
- Lead client-facing commercial discussions, ensuring clients are appropriately held to account for contractual obligations, approvals, instructions, change control and payment commitments.
- Ensure Circet identifies, substantiates and claims all contractual entitlements, variations, compensation events, recoverable costs and additional revenue opportunities wherever commercially justified.
- Experience of driving profitability and margin improvement across multiple contracts, programmes or business units
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
- Strong track record of improving contract profitability and delivering margin growth.
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities that impact business performance.
- Strong understanding of contract management, commercial governance and revenue recovery.
- Proven experience in client-facing commercial management, including holding clients to account against contractual obligations and securing recovery for change, delay, scope growth and other claimable events.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge operational performance to drive commercial outcomes.
- Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
- Experience within telecoms, construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Degree or professional qualification in a commercial, financial or quantity surveying discipline.
