Circet UK is seeking an experienced Lead Surveyor to lead a team in planning and designing fibre networks across the FTTP Architecture, supporting the creation of planning design packs for civil and cabling works.
Key Responsibilities
- Surveying and validating proposed fibre routes.
- Planning and designing FTTP networks from the Point of Presence to premises, including spine surveys.
- External fibre network design; chamber and duct construction design.
- Cabling and splicing design.
- Surveying high-level trunk routes to ensure optimal path selection.
- Validate PIA on sites, identifying issues and required workarounds (civils, new ducts, chambers, etc.).
- Provide complete survey packs and timely updates to desk‑based planners.
- Conduct detailed surveys of built environments to recommend cost‑effective new‑build solutions.
- Identify potential SED or specific traffic management requirements and determine wayleave needs during planning.
- Act independently as a self‑sufficient surveyor.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- People management capability.
- In‑depth knowledge of FTTP Architecture.
- Proficiency with MS Office, PDF writer, Visio, GIS, and ORION.
- Fibres network planning and surveying experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a fibre network planning environment.
- Experience using GIS platforms and mobile GIS devices.
- Valid accreditation in signing, lighting, and guarding.
- Up‑to‑date Manual Handling & First Aid at Work certification.
- Ability to follow design schematics and management direction.
- Comfortable working outdoors in challenging field conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and high quality standards.
- Telecoms background combined with a planning background.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
