We are hiring! Circet UK are looking for experienced Fibre Engineers to join the Home Division. The Fibre Engineer will be working overhead and underground using both OR PIA and client specific network. Activities will include using ABF equipment, plant equipment, backfill and reinstatement within customer boundaries.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installation of optical fibre cable, bundles and blown fibre tubing using fibre blowing equipment.
  • Complete intrusive surveys ('rodding and roping') on the underground and pole network.
  • Fault-Finding on End to End Installations including UG, Dropwire, Splitters, Customer Endpoint.
  • Installing, Splicing and Testing Fibre Optics.
  • Work efficiently whilst being considerate and maintaining a clean environment and excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Respond professionally and effectively to all customer requests and enquiries.
  • Comply with company fleet policy.
  • Comply with current health and safety regulations aligned to H&S handbook, Tool Box Talks, Risk assessments and Method statements.
  • Ensure work activities comply with current environmental regulations.
  • Educating our customers on the services installed while ensuring all services are operating to the customer’s satisfaction.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of FTTP and FTTH technologies.
  • Working with optical transmission equipment.
  • Sound ability to diagnose problems with existing equipment and fix faults up to resolution.
  • Ability to communicate fluently with the customers and should possess good customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical issues through the non-technical description provided by their customers.

Accreditations: SA001, SA002, NRSWA unit 2 (desirable).

Experience blowing fibre, splicing, backfill and reinstatement (desirable).

Experience working on the Openreach network using PIAIOSHH / NEBOSH qualified (desirable).
