Circet’s Home division is looking for Fibre Engineers. Reporting into the fibre supervisor, the fibre engineer will work in a pivotal role installing and servicing FTTP and client CPE across multiple clients. The fibre engineer will be installing overhead and underground using both OR PIA and client specific network. Activities will include using ABF equipment, plant equipment, backfill and reinstatement within customer boundaries. Ensuring all H&S standards are being adhered to and the quality standards being met as per the client specification.
Responsibilities:
- Use and basic maintenance of a Works tablet, fibre splicing machine, Power Meter, Fibre Identifier and Micro Scope Splicing within loss limits.
- Installation of fibre passive as per the client specification ensuring quality is being adhered to.
- Reading and understanding the test results for troubleshooting purposes.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Follow the company Incident Reporting procedure, reporting any incidents and accidents immediately.
- Proactively address customer enquiries, resolve issues and obtain customer feedback.
- Provide support and guidance to Fibre Engineers to ensure timely and quality service.
- Support Company teams in achievement of deadlines.
- Maintain positive and healthy relationship with various teams to ensure customer service effectiveness.
- Participate in training & upskilling of Fibre Engineers and be a role model for Junior staff setting an example.
Requirements:
Education / Qualifications:
- GCSE grade or Scottish equivalent.
- SA001, SA002, S8 IPAF 1b NRSWA unit 2 Blown fibre Backfill and reinstatement.
Experience required:
- Demonstrable experience with a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment.
- Advanced knowledge of FTTP and FTTH technologies.
- Working with optical transmission equipment from well established manufacturers.
- Sound ability to diagnose problems with existing equipment and fix faults up to resolution.
- Ability to communicate fluently with customers and possess good customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret technical issues through the non-technical descriptions provided by customers.
