The Financial Accountant will play a key role in the finance function within an AIM listed software company at an exciting time in the Company’s growth. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will have a highly visible role in shaping the finance function. This role is ideally suited for a recently qualified accountant looking to gain hands-on experience in PLC reporting and taxation, multi-currency consolidation and commercial decision-support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the end-to-end month-end process for US, UK and Jersey group entities
  • Preparation and posting of month-end journals
  • Review of bank payments and bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of the consolidation group management accounts
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Preparation and filing of regulatory returns in the UK and US
  • Assist with the preparation of US and UK tax returns, including UK and US corporation tax returns along with UK VAT returns
  • Assist the Finance Director with the preparation of the Group annual report and accounts along with the half-year group accounts and UK subsidiary statutory accounts
  • Lead the external audit process for the Group audit along with the UK subsidiary audit
  • Assist the Finance Director with the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Assist with the review of the UK and US payroll
  • Responsible for managing the employee share option register
  • Assist the Finance Director with process documentation and ongoing process improvement
  • Provide commercial support to other areas of the business
Key Experience & Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience within a similar role in industry or practice
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise with knowledge and experience of IFRS
  • Experience across Microsoft office applications with advanced Excel knowledge
  • Experience using multicurrency accounting software applications, such as Sage Intacct or similar applications
  • Strong understanding of finance systems and required controls
