Responsibilities
- Develop and refine procurement plans with the senior commercial managerial teams to deliver the required margin, quality and availability to ASDA customers.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring availability, quality and financial plan commitments are met.
- Provide new and improved varieties and products within the category scope to exceed customer expectations while staying cost‑effective and competitive within the market.
- Ensure all procurement activities satisfy GSCOP processes.
- Liaise with procurement advisors to support stock control and inform internal and external operations teams of volumes and potential risks, enabling them to deliver the lowest‑cost supply route to market.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Buyer, with a background in Fresh Produce or FMCG valued.
- Demonstrated ability to implement cost‑saving procurement solutions in previous roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal, relationship building and networking abilities.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of buying tools, including sustainable sourcing approaches.
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex, long‑lead‑time projects.
