Hitachi is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing activities across the UK market, with additional responsibility for several smaller European regions. This role plays a key part in optimising value, managing supplier risk, and strengthening the resilience of our materials and services supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the regional/global Category leader.
- Negotiates agreements for local/regional requirements, or global requirements when directed, and periodically renews pricelists, terms and conditions.
- Runs benchmark studies for the category team and for specific sourcing initiatives. Apply Hitachi Energy CIPS methodology.
- Creates local contract amendments to frame agreements on behalf of a country and stores, updates, and maintains frame contracts, according to the Contract Management process.
- Supports regional/global sourcing initiatives within a defined set of categories, working closely with key stakeholders to implement regional category strategies.
- On-boards new suppliers in close collaboration with the respective local buyer and supplier quality. Runs regular supplier evaluations and provides supplier reports to businesses and category managers.
- Contributes to and participates in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework. Ensures the Category sourcing performance targets are achieved.
- Fosters communication internally, externally, and between different Divisions, Business Units and Functions, supporting the implementation of Supply Chain Management activities and initiatives in the Region/Country through clear communication.
Qualifications
- Proven experience within procurement.
- Fluency in English; native in any other language is a plus.
- Proactive and good team member.
- Proven experience with contract/price list negotiations.
- Knowledge and experience with 3rd party contractors.
- Valid UK drivers license.
