Key Accountabilities

  • Closing and reporting – Monthly, quarterly, annual month end activities including review of trial balance, P&L and Balance Sheet. Further, uploading of TB and inter-co elimination on BPC.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, Cipla's accounting policies, IFC and accuracy of reported numbers.
  • P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis.
  • True-up workings to ensure adherence to Transfer pricing policy.
  • Preparation and review of tax computations.
  • Coordinating with external consultants to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Identify control gaps, define and execute implementation of additional controls preferably system based controls or manual controls.
  • Co-own the regional P&L and financial performance on Revenue, Profits, Cash flow and ROIC for the UK region in order to meet the desired growth for the organisation.
  • Control over expenses for the regions and setting up of strong processes to avoid any leakages on profitability.
  • Provide proactive financial support for the Region by developing analytical and financial insight for all important long and short-term decisions.
  • Establish and manage Country financial control processes, including quarterly and annual financial planning, goal setting, and target monitoring, as well as budgetary and purchasing controls.
  • Drive governance and legal compliance through regular audits (internal and external), risk management, review of contracts in order to ensure statutory compliance and avoid fraud risks.
  • Drive working capital management by managing inventories, accounts receivables, payables and cash in order to ensure effective cost management.
  • Ensure tax compliance and maximise tax planning opportunities.
  • Develop and manage key stakeholder relationships by working closely with them and communicating on a regular basis in order to achieve the strategic objectives in a smooth and effective manner.
  • India and UK subsidiary connect - Be the connect between India office and UK subsidiaries. Be the voice of UK in India corporate head office and vice-versa. Ensure issue resolution and smooth functioning and collaboration across functions. Drive key decisions and implementation.
  • Operational excellence in UK countries - Actively supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable situations by driving collections and payments for all markets. Proactively resolve operational issues impacting revenues. Inventory management as per norm. Adequate planning for expiry and discussion of liquidation plans with commercial leads to reduce the impact.
  • Drive controllership agenda with UK finance heads for the region. Prepare dashboards with actionable insights for UK markets. Engage with finance stakeholders in region and in central team to ensure on time closures and resolutions. Strong drive of compliance and one version of truth. Manage controllership scorecard.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent degree in finance/accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and 2 years UK experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, tax compliances, and inventory management.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and automation tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional / cultural team environment and partner with business units.
