About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator with strong Unix/Linux skills. This role focuses on both production support and development activities for DB2 databases on open systems, with some exposure to mainframes.
Key Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a DB2 DBA in development, enhancements, and production support.
- Certified IBM DB2 DBA or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with implementing data maintenance, managing authorizations/privileges, and performing regular backup and recovery activities.
- Experience in operational 24×7 support, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a DB2 DBA on Mainframes.
- Strong Unix/Linux skills required; DB2 mainframe expertise is desirable but not primary.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 production support for DB2 databases.
- Deliver solutions to application teams.
- Manage both logical and physical partitioning databases.
- Perform data refreshes in development regions.
- Participate in DB2 V10 upgrades and quarterly disaster recovery exercises.
- Handle database restoration and redirect restorations.
- Responsible for database backups and recovery in stand-alone and DPF environments.
- Create and manage DB2 objects: databases, tablespaces, tables, views, indexes, etc.
- Configure HADR between servers.
- Support various Windows applications like Philbert, WinSQL, and NLP.
- Catalog mainframe databases for open systems users.
- Resolve user database issues, manage access (grant/revoke privileges).
- Monitor databases using tools like db2top, db2pd, snapshots, etc.
- Work with partitioned tables, materialized query tables, and views.
- Perform restorations based on business requirements, including tablespace-level backups.
- Support DB2-based tools such as IBM Data Studio, IBM Rational Manager, and IBM Installation Manager.
- Work with Q Replication.
- Participate in incident and change management using HPSM.
