A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team on a major highways infrastructure programme in the Bristol region. Reporting into a Project Manager/Commercial Manager, you'll take ownership of all commercial aspects of your projects, protecting financial performance and contractual position while building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead commercial management across highways works, safeguarding contractual and financial position
- Manage procurement, subcontract tendering, evaluation and appointment
- Prepare valuations, invoices, cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow
- Oversee change control β identifying, valuing and recovering variations/compensation events
- Administer subcontracts including payments, instructions, re-measurement and final accounts
- Monitor cost, risk and opportunity to drive commercial efficiency
What we're looking for:
- Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Confident negotiator, comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders
- Track record in subcontract procurement and commercial reporting
