We are expanding our existing presence in Nations and Regions across the UK to increase our focus on supporting our members, developing key relationships, networks, and communities for People Professionals and working collaboratively with our local branches and volunteers on local member engagement opportunities.

The role

As Engagement Manager, you will manage and implement engagement and community plans that are aligned to the UK Market Strategy, delivering growth in networks, communities, membership and supporting our engagement with organisations.

  • This role will require travel across London and South East region with some travel to our offices in Wimbledon.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working closely with various teams and stakeholders across the organisation and supporting delivery against commercial revenue targets.
  • Collaborating with branch networks (teams and volunteers) to embed a seamless approach in the management and development of relationships with external stakeholders, potential partners and centres to support member acquisition and growth.
  • Driving and implementing proactive engagement strategies with key customer groups to understand their needs.
  • Executing regional and local engagement plans that align to UK Market key priorities to engage, retain and grow membership.
  • Managing, facilitating and delivering regional networks and engagement activities that span across special interest groups and networks forums.
  • Identifying opportunities for branch and regional networks and events.
  • Working across varied stakeholders and offering an input to design and content delivery for communities, members and HR leaders.
  • Embedding a unified strategy that allows branch and engagement activity to align in market.
  • Playing a key role in developing relationships with branch committees; attending strategy meetings to collaborate with on member engagement plans and activity.
  • Building the relationship with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
  • Leading and managing people.
  • Acting as brand ambassador and championing CIPD's voices across all networks, teams and stakeholder groups internally and externally.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Proven track record of stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Evidence of proactively developing partnerships and demonstrating excellent negotiation and relationship management capability.
  • People management and leadership experience.
  • Skills in budget management and project management.
  • Commercially focused with a business development mindset and driven to optimise growth of membership, defining and delivering targeted membership activities.
  • Advanced credible communicator who has the ability to gain respect and commitment from our volunteers, branches, centres, SMEs, local authorities, Chambers of Commerce and policy makers in the region.
  • Engaging and energetic approach to influence others and act as a true ambassador for the CIPD.
  • Strong organisational skills with the capability to deliver within tight deadlines with the capacity to manage a pressurised and varied workload with many conflicting demands, including the demands of a substantial volunteer network.
