Overview

Dispensary & Lab Assistant

Location: 608 Vet Practice, Solihull (with branch work at Acocks Green and Bentley Heath)

We are looking for a Dispensary and Lab Assistant with a strong focus on client care—a professional all-rounder who can bring flexibility and energy to support our busy 24-hour hospital in non-clinical areas.

This varied role will involve not only working behind the scenes in the dispensary and laboratory, but also directly with clients—answering queries both in person and over the phone. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a dispensing pharmacy or veterinary environment, but this is not essential. If you have excellent client care skills, a keen eye for detail, and the willingness to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

Your key responsibilities

  • Maintaining stock levels of medications and supplies (both physically and electronically)
  • Running blood and urine samples in-house
  • Packing and sending external laboratory samples
  • Training to carry out cytology and microbiology

About the role

  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Includes some evenings and weekends on a rota basis
  • Main practice (Solihull) open 8am–7pm;
  • Separate dedicated team provides in-house night service (7pm–8am)
