About Cinnamon

Cinnamon is the most ambitious independent Roblox studio in the world. Our games have generated billions of visits, reached millions of players worldwide and continue to grow every day. Our portfolio includes LifeTogether (3.5+ billion visits), Block Spin (990+ million visits) and Bayview (600+ million visits), alongside an ambitious project currently in development. We build original games. We own our products. We invest in them for the long term. While many games experience a brief spike in popularity before disappearing, our focus is on building products that continue to grow every single day, retain players and attract large audiences long after launch. We're building games designed to become long-term destinations for millions of players and become legendary.

The Role

We're looking for a talented Roblox Developer to help build the next generation of Cinnamon games. You'll create systems, mechanics and features experienced by millions of players worldwide while working closely with artists, designers and founders. This is primarily a development role focused on Roblox Studio and Luau, but we're looking for someone who can contribute across the wider Roblox development pipeline. As a small team, every developer has a direct impact on the quality and success of our games.

What You'll Do

  • Develop gameplay systems, mechanics and features using Roblox Studio and Luau
  • Build scalable systems for live Roblox experiences
  • Create progression, economy and player engagement features
  • Implement UI, audio and visual systems where required
  • Optimise performance across client and server
  • Debug and improve existing systems
  • Collaborate closely with artists, designers and founders
  • Take ownership of features from concept through release

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive commercial experience building successful Roblox games.
  • Proven track record of shipping live Roblox experiences with large player communities (typically tens of millions of visits or significant concurrent player counts).
  • Experience owning major gameplay systems from concept through to live release.
  • Strong technical judgement with the ability to make architecture and gameplay decisions independently.
  • Deep understanding of gameplay feel, player retention, progression systems and technical game design.
  • Experience working on long-term live products rather than short-lived prototypes or hobby projects.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype, iterate and polish gameplay based on testing and feedback.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of complex technical problems with minimal direction.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a small, senior team.
  • Full-time availability or a contractor intending to transition into a permanent role.
  • UK-based and able to work remotely.
  • Experience with UI, audio, VFX, optimisation, tooling, LiveOps or large-scale Roblox experiences is highly valued.

Why Join Cinnamon?

We've already built games that have generated billions of visits and reached millions of players worldwide. Now we're building the next hits. The systems and features you create will be played by millions of players and directly influence the success of our games. We're highly selective about who joins the studio because every developer has a real impact on what we build. If you're excited by the idea of helping create the next generation of Roblox hits, we'd love to hear from you.

What You Get

  • UK Remote
  • Flexible working
  • Company pension
  • Opportunity to work on games played by millions of players worldwide
  • Significant ownership and autonomy
  • Direct influence on products, features and studio direction
  • The opportunity to help build one of the most successful independent studios operating on the Roblox platform

Recruitment Process

  1. All applications are reviewed manually by both our recruiter and internal studio team members.
  2. Selected candidates will be invited to an initial screening call.
  3. Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical Roblox development task.
  4. Final candidates will meet with the founders.

If both sides feel there is a strong fit, we'll move forward with a formal offer and agreed start date.

How to prepare for a job interview at Cinnamon

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Cinnamon uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
